How to Use
Oregano oil can be used topically, applying it to the site of infection. This can be done several times a day. My son's hands were peeling, so I applied oregano oil on his hands two nights in a row (along with a little coconut oil). After the second application, there was no more peeling!
It can also be applied once or twice a day on the lower part of the spine. This is especially recommended for those who have herpes, as the virus lodges itself in the lower part of the spine.
Oregano oil can also be ingested internally by putting a few drops under the tongue. Some choose to dilute it though not necessary.
Warnings
Though oregano oil is safe to use, one must bear the following points in mind:
-
If you are anemic, be sure to use it at least two hours after taking iron supplements, as oregano oil can interfere with iron absorption. When I went on a cleanse and used oregano oil (a different brand), my iron levels dropped (and I'm anemic). Now I take my iron supplements in the morning and use oregano oil twice a day- once in the afternoon and once at night. By doing it this way, there have not been any problems with my iron level.
-
You may want to take acidophilus to ensure that your healthy bacteria is not destroyed; that could possibly happen only if you use it a lot.
-
If pregnant or nursing, please avoid.
